Legacy Work and Ethical Wills

A typical legal will is about property and assets you will leave behind. But what about the intangible parts of you that you hope your loved ones will remember?

Legacy work is designed for you to share wisdom and feelings with your next of kin, chosen family, or community in writing or any creative medium that speaks to you.

This guided process will have you reflect on your life, your values, and what you want to leave behind—in your own words.

What is Legacy Work? What are Ethical Wills?

An ethical will is a document that shares your values, life lessons, beliefs, and hopes for others. Unlike a legal will, it does not distribute possessions. Instead, it offers something more personal: your voice, your perspective, and what you want others to carry forward.

This tradition has roots in Jewish history, where individuals passed down wisdom and meaning alongside material inheritance.

Today, ethical wills can be created by anyone, at any stage of life.

Legacy Work Offerings

I bring a combination of clinical training and legal expertise to this work. With a law degree from the University of Miami (cum laude, 2008) and years as a member of the Florida Bar, I understand the intersection of estate planning and personal meaning-making in a unique way.

That background has been a gift in legacy work, allowing me to help clients navigate practical considerations while never losing sight of the emotional and existential dimensions of what they hope to leave behind.

While I do not provide legal advice, I often help clients prepare emotionally for conversations and decisions that accompany wills, advance directives, legacy letters, ethical wills, and end-of-life planning.

If You're Considering This Work

Beginning legacy work can feel both meaningful and emotional. You don't need to have clarity before starting—only a willingness to reflect.
